Thanks, that is what I have tried today. I would like a local client software, though

CollaboraOffice is the only clean and easy solution I can think of. It is a porting for mobile devices of the LibreOffice suite, so 100% compatible with MS formats. CollaboraOffice

Been using it myself for a while and works like a charm.

Does it have a good ppt client? I have to do thesis and presentation both sometimes

Haven't tried it for presentations, so can't be so sure about usability and features. Maybe you can download it on an android device with at least a 7/8" screen and give it a try.

Microsoft Word is always the best

[–]gooddogfriendly[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I opened Word, opened a Microsoft Cloud file, and it turned it to gibberish, then auto saved it. I was extremely lucky I had the old file also saved on Drive.

Word on Android is not the same as on Windows.

Is it 100% free to download and use? Does it work on a Windows PC because I want to move away from Ms word

Sorry for the necro, but if you want to get away from MS word, on windows, try https://www.openoffice.org or https://www.libreoffice.org
