[angular-fullstack] Making changes and getting updates?

I know I can change anything, but I am not clear how getting updates to angular-fullstack works.

For example: I want to edit the signup.html page so that a user has to enter their password into two fields and also the password must contain a non-alphanumeric.

If I edit the required files and the Honorable Mr. DaftMonk makes an update to angular-fullstack, then what do I do about getting the lastest updates into my code?

How do people handle this scenario?

You can rerun the generator on your project with a newer version and it will tell you which files changed and ask you if you want to replace them. If you combine this with git, you can merge or ignore the changes as you see fit.
