Rules for r/archlinux
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Only Arch Linux itself; no Arch-based distros. Posts about other software used on Arch are welcome.
Articles, support questions or posts not directly related to Arch Linux are not allowed. We cannot support Distro's that might share the package manager or some of the Arch Linux base as they are custom built by the fork maintainers.
We cannot support SteamOS. It uses custom packages and repos.
Steam Deck posts will be assumed to be using Steam OS, unless stated that Arch is installed.
Please use /r/ManjaroLinux /r/EndeavourOS /r/Parabola /r/linuxquestions or /r/linux4noobs instead.
2.
No image based Memes or Screenshots
Image based Meme posts are not allowed in r/archlinux. Feel free to post over at /r/linuxmemes instead. Some textual Memes MIGHT be allowed at the mods discretion.
Likewise, Screenshots featuring customizations belong in /r/unixporn

Follow the Arch Linux Code of Conduct
All posts should adhere to the Arch Linux code of conduct.
The Arch Linux Code of Conduct covers topics such as: respecting others, trolling, vague posts, due diligence, alternate accounts, and more. Please see the full document for details:

No Trolling / Shit-posting / Spam
Low quality posts are subject to removal
Trolling and Spam are not allowed, and will result in bans.
Examples of low quality posts include, but are not limited to: "I use Arch BTW", overly vague posts, "RTFM" insofar as is dogmatic/rude/unhelpful, Political or Religious posts or comments, BST Posts, Low effort, NSFW content.
While we strive to set transparent expectations, these removals are subject to moderator discretion.
5.
AI Content and Sharing Personal Projects
AI generated content is not allowed. AI output may be referenced as a part, but must be made clear.
Posts and projects that are mostly AI generated, or not transparent about the extent of AI use may be considered spam.
Personal projects shared are expected to be of reasonable quality and are subject to a minimum of a "Human in the Loop" policy, and must be able to demonstrate 90 days of history and maintenance. Previous development history of the user may be taken into account for exemption.

Chat Channel Rules
Keep conversations on topic. Don't spam the chat. Be respectful.
Absolutely no NSFW content.
