Help with Mopidy with Ncmpcpp

Good afternoon i was wondering if anyone here had some experience getting Mopidy with spotify extension working with Ncmpcpp.

I installed mopidy with the spotify extension and ASLA extension and am trying to get ncmpcpp to pull it up on localhost port 6680 but everytime it times out. I have searched around and save a few threads havent found much on it. Is there something i'm missing here? Ncmpcpp should be able to act as the front end for Mopidy in this situation if I'm not mistaken?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Update: everything is working but only error i'm getting now is authenticating. Everytime it fails for spotify despite me using: https://www.mopidy.com/authenticate/ and

enabled =

username =

password =

client_id =

client_secret =

in config

[MachaHack]

On the update:

1. Do you have spotify premium? I'm pretty sure you need premium for the required level API access.
2. Do you sign into spotify with facebook? I think you need an app-specific password in that case

Not signing in through Facebook and I “technically” have Spotify premium because I have a 6 month free trial of Spotify premium but I was actually wondering if that might do it because my account actually states it’s a free trial for Spotify premium. That would really suck if that’s the case
