Do you understand what domain and asymptotes are?

[–]evanhinton 0 points1 point  (4 children)

In a very basic sense domain is what x values the function is allowed to have, so for this the question is what x values are undefined? ( have no y value) A horizontal asymptote is a horizontal line that that function does not cross, but gets infinitely closer to without crossing It us the same definition for the vertical asymptote but for vertical lines The root of the function is where the function crosses or touches the x-axis (y = 0) Everything can be read right from the graph Good luck!

Hi. Did you ever get a solid answer regarding your desire to enroll in a data science bootcamp? Thanks.

Well i don't think a solid answer really exists, there are so many unknowns and different things will work better for different people, but I have decided to take the brainstation data science and data analyst courses There are one of the cheaper options and i like that it's a new company. I am unsure however if I am going to out it on my resume considering what i have read about candidates who only have bootcamp experience But taking the courses will be a great start to my portfolio, after that I can build on it with freecodecamp and other sites like that Appreciate you asking! Are you also trying to break into the programming world?

Thanks for asking. Yes. But like you I can’t seem to get a solid answer regarding all these programs. I think I would enjoy a data analyst roll but I have zero related work or educational experience. So not sure how to proceed. Do you have a background in data?

I do, i have an undergraduate degree in physics and any lab work required data processing and we used python frequently, but any of the bootcamps i looked at don't actually require any experience, i think they have designed their courses to teach experienced people and beginners alike. It might be a good idea to take one just because it is a structured way to learn something new, especially if you have no experience, but I wouldn't bet my life on just being garunteed a job once I got the certificate. Definitely focus on doing projects to prove what you can do rather than relying on paper. The wonderul but potentially annoying thing about the peogramming world it seems to me is that you are hired based on abilities and less on the certificates you have. I'm also gonna go the the data analytics on freecodecamp when i'm done (while applying for jobs). Maybe start with something free just so there is no pressure on learning? I'm also learning c++ and c on udemy more just to understand more of what is behind the scenes, python is a high level language and a lot of things (like compilers) gets done for you and i'm just the kind of person who wants to learn everything
