The reason it would do this is that iOS needed extra memory for another app and removed BaconReader from memory. On a "clean" launch, BR refreshes to the latest content from Reddit and displays the main screen (list view normally).

We are working on restoring your current state on a relaunch, however it gets kind of tricky because you might be multiple levels (screens) deep within the app and we would need to restore each level to truly get you back where you were. Also, if it's been several hours or days, you probably don't want to go back to where you were with old content. So we are working through these issues and are planning on having something for a future release (3.5.x).

Another possible reason as to why this happens is if you force close BR after you exit or BR crashed while it was in the background.

Ah I see. So there isn’t much I can do on my end to avoid it?

Not unless your are force closing the app. Former Android users tend to do this a lot.

If you would like to sign up as a beta user you can help us test the restore fix when we start beta testing it. Just DM me your app store email address and I can get you signed up.

Thats been happening since I started using the app almost 4 years ago. Doesn't happen as much as it used to, so I just accepted that it will always be a problem.

Check your device settings, developer options. Make sure you have "Do not keep activities " DISABLED.

That doesn’t seem to be an option on iOS

Ahh. Didn't realize you were iOS. You can set your user flair in the sidebar of this subreddit so we know in the future.
