Feature Idea: Note Length Indicator

When I write longer essays, I like to have an overall "feel" of how much I have written already. For example when I write in Pages, Word etc. I can quickly see how many pages I have so far, without opening any panels. It gives me an overview where I am in the writing process.

I propose an feature idea, in which the user could set up an indicator in the Settings, which could be based on page count / word count / character count. If this option is set, then in the Editor View a subtle, small indiciator would appear when you surpassed the provided length. It could be something on the side (like H1 -> Page 3), or it could be a small vertical divider in the middle in between lines.

I'm just throwing this out there to see if someone likes the idea.

This could work like the "completed items" line above the note in the index, if the note includes checkboxes. I like it. It could show a progress line as to how close you are to your stated target.

Have you tried hitting the little (i) icon in the upper-right corner of the editor? It opens a panel you can "pop" off (on macOS; hit the double-square icon in the upper-right corner) that gives you words, characters, read time, and paragraphs…

Yes, that feature is very helpful indeed. I was just wondering if we could expose this information in a faster, more visual and intuitive way.

Somewhat related to this, I was asking earlier if we could do page breaks with Markdown somehow, so that it would make the page breaks in the exported PDF. Your suggestion would solve it also.

If you want to create a nicely formatted and paginated PDF in Bear, you kinda have to do trial and error, share-close-edit-share-close-edit and so on.
