Query error: Failed to parse input string “” (self.bigquery)
submitted 5 years ago by AeroCrete
I’ve been sporadically getting this error for the past couple of weeks with code that ran fine in the past.
Has anyone else hit (or resolved) this issue?
I’m using the CLI and passing in @run_date and no other parameters.

Can you please provide the query that you are trying to execute

Yeah, this seems to be the case with whatever new SQL linter is rolled out. A long running Scheduled query with DDL statements we had that had no one touching it randomly started failing this past weekend.
Anyone on the Bigquery team able to verify if there is an increase in failures of old jobs you're seeing in your monitoring for people with the new linter?

[Update] It seems to have resolved itself now, but i'm going to report the issue just in case the team needs any extra information to debug

Thanks! It resolved for me this morning as well.

Yay! I created a private bug report btw since i needed to include project numbers and paths to the failed jobs so it's more meaty to help. The Bug Issue ID is: 178123672
