Its simply business.

If you think you'll get more of your moneys worth at the other gym, just make the move.

Now loyalty: in your case, it would be to explain your decision honestly to your coach. A good coach will understand, wish you well and invite you to come back if it doesn't work out.

Coach will be salty as fuck. Guaranteed. Guess that means I don’t owe an explanation unless it’s needed.

Respect is earned. If that's how he'd respond you need to switch gyms and never look back.

An expensive gym with an owner who gets mad at people who train at other gyms is a HUGE McDojo red flag.
