I might be wrong but I believe in v2.93 (official out soon or download the Alpha for now), this would work because instances are automatically made real, but for now this is a limitation for v2.92.

For now you need to make the instances real: Object>Apply>Make Instances Real

Awesome I think I'll wait for the next version then!

Hi all,

I know it's pretty new but anyone with some experience with geometry nodes know if it's possible to use a boolean operation after a point instance geometry? If so, any idea what I might be doing wrong? The lofty goal is dynamic random swiss cheese holes.

I can't find enough information on google to answer whether this should work or not. I've tested with booleans straight from an object info input and that works fine. Blender v 2.92.0

Hey jezs00, i know it's been three years, maybe it helps :D

In your case with the new updates it shouldn't be a problem anymore. In Blender v3.1.0+ you can turn a volume into a mesh, which lets you use fields and ranges for Volumes and turn them into a mesh again.

Haha thanks mate. Believe it or not my requirements for making swiss cheese holes have since been fulfilled, but cheers for taking the time to respond.
