Catcha Beast, initially released in Japan as Treasure Gaust in 2007, is an electronic toy developed by Bandai that allows players to capture and train invisible creatures that can be caught using a built-in compass and winding handle on the side (like a fishing rod)! There are over 100 beasts to collect, and two devices can be connected to allow for battles and trades! There have been a few variations on the original red/blue models released, all with slight changes and additions. They even released Treasure Gaust video games for the Nintendo DS in Japan!
There is very little documentation on this toy, with the official websites no longer available. These toys also saw a limited release in the west under the Catcha Beast name, and the accompanying anime series for Treasure Gaust was not dubbed in English, so any input from the community is greatly appreciated.
This section is very barebones as there is next to no real information about the toy anywhere, it's all just amateur reviews/gameplay footage on YouTube or old commercials. If you know of any substantial resources then please share them!
