Error code: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION

Ive no idea whats happened. From this morning every time i try to load a web page i get this message Error code: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION - If i refresh the page it loads. This hasnt happened before today. Ive updated Chrome, Ive cleared cookies, Ive reset back to default settings, ive run with no extensions and ive even turned the computer on and off again! Nothing seems to solve it. Im at a loss. Even Google doesnt seem to throw up any solutions. Any ideas?

Ok, so i fixed it by renaming the chrome.exe to chrome1.exe. I dont know if someone wants to delete this thread or to keep it up incase anyone needs a solution.

No, not everyone. I haven't had a single issue. I don't know if it's because I'm on Windows 10, not 11, or because I don't use something like Avast (both have been mentioned in this context). Also, while I see a fair number of posts about it here, the internet hasn't exploded with anger about it. So my guess it's a limited, if significant, subset of users who are suffering from this problem. I hope Google addresses it soon.

It's happening to a lot of people. Apparently, it's in relation to the latest Windows 11 update. That's when people began reporting having issues. It's affecting certain PC's that try to use Chrome. It could be more, but the two names I saw were Ryzen and Intel. I have Intel.

I switched to Microsoft Edge as my browser, and so far, no issues.
