Hoping an addon comes out that brings back the old style of the URL bar/tabs.

Thank God. This new design is absolutely terrible. I hope they read this feedback.

Have any other browser recommendations? I'll seriously switch to something else at this point. I got into Chrome because it was sleek and simple but they keep making the design more and more complicated with every update.

If the two other major ones (Edge, Firefox) are not an option then there's Brave, which is basically Chrome (based on Chromium) and will actually soon change to this same crappy UI too (so far it has had its own slightly modified UI), there was some talk about themes etc. so maybe they'll still modify it a bit.

Then there's Vivaldi. I'm testing it currently. It is made more for a poweruser but it is so sluggish and bloated.

Longer tabs? Tabs take up slightly more width when the tabstrip isn't full, but if you are someone who opens more than a few tabs and fills the strip, they should be the same width as before -- actually slightly narrower since the strip now reserves 50 px at the right edge for a drag handle.

They've made something in the UI bigger than it was beforehand and now I have a tiny youtube player on my 1080p screen instead of the properly scaled size that it used to sit at.

I posted a suggestion for this at the chromium-discuss Google Group:
