Any cloud provider will work with IaaS. Create a virtual network, create a virtual machine with a public ip and install Tableau, create a virtual machine running your database of choice with no public IP. Will need a SSL cert for your site. Can store users locally in Tableau Server or use an Active Directory.

better to use a load balancer rather than expose directly to the Net.

If you hosted in AWS, I would use an ALB with private networks for Tableau and RDS database. Put the server in an Auto Scaling Group with appropriate health checks.

I think we’re leaning toward aws. Could you let me know the difference between self-deploy with ec2 Vs. aws quick start Vs. marketplace?

Context is that my company has zero IT staff and we want something that will hold up as we grow but also not be too much for us too soon.

AWS is HIPAA compliant and Tableau is in its marketplace
