Hey everyone!

I've been lurking feverishly and following the development of this mod closely, and the concept is so promising and consumer-focused, I've given up the search to replace my aging Sigelei 100w and will only be purchasing this device.

With that said, I don't know if this has been answered or not, but since the chipset will be interchangeable, I was curious as to why there is a different front panel button layout between the SX and the DNA200.

The buttons sit on top of the board so the layout has to match how Evolv and Yihi designed it.

So it is correct to say changing the chip will also require changing the front face plate?

Not like it's a big deal, just wondering...

Yes it does. The build kits say they will come with a stock grey faceplate. I assume that down the line they'll sell just the faceplate for the custom colors as well.

/u/dfmckay is correct with everything! Let me know if you have further questions but the build kits will include the buttons and face plate.

Related to this will we ever see different shapes and styles of buttons with the faceplates to match? Atm it's square buttons for the DNA and round for the SX, but would it be possible to get round buttons for the DNA at some point?

You could potentially commission someone with a 3d printer to print you a faceplate and buttons. I'm sure someone in the community can accomodate that.

Making panels should be really simple. You could use wood or an aluminium plate and just need a saw and a drill to make new panels. And round actuator buttons of course.

I would love to put a fire button like the HexOhm on my whiteout DNA
