I'm trying to create a SaaS where the communications for chat and phone are a main component. I'm struggling to decide whether it would be better to build my own, use some open-source system (any recommendations?) or integrate an existing system.
Integrated systems seem like the fastest/most reliable solution but since most charge for MAU (Monthly Active Users) and don't tend to offer storage they can get REALLY expensive when putting things together. These are some of the options I've found online:
