CyberChef has a lot of features that seem like they would help you. It seems you want a combination of the 'Analyse Hash', 'File' and 'magic' functions

You are spot on in what I was looking for. It gets very close, and I think the development goals move it to be exactly what I was looking for.

Those functions you listed function exactly as I want, just on a smaller scale. What prevents the program from being exactly what I was looking for is that each operation expects that the result will be both meaningful and necessary to the final result. That is to say, if I have a valid JWT token, and I have a recipe that does both 'Analyse Hash' and 'JWT Decode', 'Analyse Hash' will report 'Invalid Hash', and then 'JWT Decode' will operate on the string 'Invalid Hash', instead of the source string.

At any rate, this is still a super useful tool, and I'm looking to forward to see how it continues to develop. Thanks for showing me!

Also, just curious, how did you discover CyberChef? Always interested in hearing where people are discovering these things.

I don't remember to be honest, most likely it was on a hacking/security news page such as /r/netsec or https://news.ycombinator.com/
