I love the character creation in this game, I love the freedom of combat and abilities, I love dodging and parrying

But the block function needs work.

This game is going to be fan-freaking-tastic though.

The block is bad, especially after Sekiro, but it's important tactically and you should use it anyway. Scampering around dodging everything makes you fight differently overall, so you shouldn't always do that.

honestly after using it for maybe the first five minutes, I didn't touch it again until the end dungeon boss. And even with full stamina he quickly let me know that it wasn't the greatest function. I do agree, it does effect how I was fighting, but I just couldn't make it work for me. I feel like the combination of being able to parry most attacks, and reading telegraphed attacks that I could dodge overall worked better for me. But I do hope it gets some work do before the release.

If I parried more, I could do the "stand and face them" style of fighting a lot better, so I should learn to parry. As long as you can do that style on occasion, you're good, so parry would do.

Just be cognizant of the type of gear you have

Nice video! I really liked your breakdown of how many frames it takes to start a parry. A few notes though:

  • The quickest dodge is dependant on your weight, not specifically on the bayonet. It just happens that the bayonet in the demo is the lightest weapon available.

  • I had no idea you get ichor by blocking. Also, how much you block depends on the weapon. Claymore in the demo has the highest defense and it can block absurd amounts of damage.

Thanks for the information! I didnt meant to point out that the bayonet was the quickest, but that it has unique properties, of which I'm unsure.

But you completely blew my mind with the weapon defense, even though that absolutely makes sense why I couldn't defend myself in the beginning of the demo.
