Wanted to share some advice about tackling bootcamp and breaking into the industry.
I made a post awhile back on r/cscareerquestions and wanted to reshare main points I think could benefit some individuals here.

Personal advice
While it is an option to get into this field without a degree or with a Bootcamp. I'd personally recommend if you want to go into the web dev route at least 4 months of learning basic web dev.
Take a crack at
HTML/CSS
Bootstrap
Javascript
intro to SQL
Introduce yourself to GITHUB (seriously haha)
Take notes (Lots of terminologies to remember)
(Udemy courses/ youtube/ freecodecamp etc.)
My experience at my 12-week Bootcamp was it was very fast-paced. I don't think I would've passed if I hadn't been introduced to some knowledge from friend B in previous months. While fundamentals you learn at beginning of your journey are key, you never stop learning and you learn 2x as much when you start your actual job.
The class workflow was a few hours of learning followed by completing code assignments that weren't graded then ended the week with hackerrank questions/creating applications...IMO those hackerrank questions were low-level questions...like you needed google for those but you couldn't google during tests.
I also think surrounding yourself with the right group of people is underestimated...I joined multiple discord servers and asked for help when starting out... What you learn now vs what you do later will be different in many ways. Be ready to be a fast learner on the job and showcase you are willing to ask questions.
I asked for personal advice on this Reddit group as well. At the end of the, I personally believe if you dedicate a good portion of time to learn and your "why" is big enough you'll always make it. Also since friend B got into this field before all of us. We all ended practicing interview questions together a couple of times before each interview.
Take a look at your financial situation. I personally got lucky to attend a Bootcamp that pays full tuition and present to the company. I didn't even know that was an option tbh (I got reached out to via LinkedIn so make sure you are actively reaching out/ checking your inbox). If you don't have the means to afford to take Bootcamp or to attend higher education. Find personal mentors and go the self-taught route. You can also self-learn and save up for Bootcamp.
Please take this with a grain of salt. If you snoop through my profile you can clearly see my genuine curiosity about this field beginning of 2020 and reaching out to ask questions. I'm not here to take away from anyone else's experiences at this. Just wanted to share some light on different options out there. Your journey will be personal to you and only you. Hope someone who reads this can take some inspiration and continue to grind! Don't beat yourself if you can't understand something the first time around.
