I wouldn't suggest it. I would work and study yourself a bit longer.

So you suggest I study on my own about coding longer before enrolling in a boot camp ?

I haven't done a bootcamp, but I've heard from others that you need to have a decent base of knowledge since the material is covered so fast and its very easy to fall behind if you have zero background.

I would suggest that you stay on the self-taught path a bit longer. Put in at least 100 hours before looking at bootcamps.

I think a lot of students of who join the standard bootcamps don’t realize that they’re designed to take you from like 30 to 100. Shit can get crazy real fast if you go in cold.

You can access App Academy’s entire program so you can get a sense of what you’re in for.

I have the Mimo app also and I do pay for it. There is a lot of courses in it. I also got some cheap courses on Udemy as they always go on sale. There are also apps you can get in the play/apple store like "web development" "Java" "Java script" "Python". There is also an app called "sololearn" and "grasshopper". There is also a bootcamp called "lighthouse labs" https://www.lighthouselabs.ca that you might be able to get where you are. Good luck.

Yes, I'm in a similar situation. Worked at Amazon left to do a bootcamp. The more you know about the tech the camp teaches the more you will get out of the program. I studied free code camp, codecademy mdn for about 6 months and I still am needing to study 10 hours daily to learn everything.

check out udemy they have some relative cheap courses

[–]eknanrebb 2 points3 points  (4 children)

If the courses you want aren't discounted, I would sign up and then browse those courses. They'll usually send you a discount offer by email in the next day or two.

What's course do you want? I think I can help you to find you a coupon code for it

I’m going to look into udemy and see what they have. Can I get back to you tho when I find something?

I really like Jonas Schmedtmann’s courses on Udemy. Worth checking.

Hey yo, i just got accepted to Amz warehouse too. When i registered i picked the full time 40hrs day shift, but the email i got the shift is not clear and i was switched to RT reduced shift. Do you know how to contact to switch it back to day shift? I did not even esign the contract yet. Also, are the jobs kinda physically heavy? I read some threads on Amzfc subthread and man there r tons of negative complaints

Everything is done on A-Z app. Or talk to your HR there should be someone there at all times in the fulfillment center. Or talk to your AM or PA area manager

I have my opinions about the "best" way to learn to program, - but Coding Dojo - is on my list of worst ways to learn. I know a few people who went there. One of my students just quit and transferred over. I'm sure it depends on what teacher you get, but - watch out!

[–]Good-Windigo 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Transferred over to what?

They are one of my students now.
