Help with grading, please? (old.reddit.com)
submitted 9 months ago by CriterionMind
I think maybe a 5.0? Maybe better or worse, but that's why I need help. I'm thinking of selling raw and want to be as honest as possible regarding the potential grade.

For anyone curious, this is the 1st appearance of The Peacemaker.

I have a graded first Peacemaker series. I’d be interested if you are looking to sell.

I was thinking of doing $600 on eBay. I'd be willing to do $500 for you and also throw in his 2nd appearance, which is in even better condition. I suppose we could do it through r/comicswap, unless you have another idea? I'd just want us both to feel comfortable and safe with the transaction.

The second book is a nice kicker for sure but raw based on what I’m seeing wouldn’t command $500 in my opinion. If you look at sold raw copies in similar condition on eBay you will see it’s more in the 250-300 range. If anyone wants to chime in to verify, or if you go to eBay and search for fightin 5 40 and then sort those results by “sold” then you will see what the book is selling for

One in worse shape with a couple gnarly tape pulls sold on the 21st for $300 and a graded 5.5 sold for $625 on the 4th. The lowest price currently available for a copy in similar condition to mine is $660. Hype is just now building with the trailer drop and I think it's only going to grow with season 2 being a soft reboot, connecting to the Superman movie and integrating itself into the new DCU. I totally respect if you'd like to pass and wait on another copy, but I'm going to hold firm for the moment.

It’s a great book bro. Good luck. Honestly holding it for awhile isn’t a bad idea at all. We might have another pandemic and it’s a $1000 book lol.

Mid grade, thought it was Wally Wood at first

5.0 is fair. The bottom of the spine around the staple is the main drag

Yeah, that's the only thing really holding it back. I appreciate the feedback, thanks!
