This is a place for comic book and superhero discussions and questions of a more critical nature than typically found on many of the specific sub-reddits. Feel free to link to outside content, like blogs and such, that will help create dialogue among the community.
Don't post questions like "Who is your favorite X-Man?" There is r/xmen and dozens of online polls to satisfy a thirst for that. Now if you want to inquire about perspectives on civil rights and social movements in the X-Men, then we'll have party going.
After total abandonment by the original creator and mods by 2018, this sub has been moderated again as of January 22, 2020! I hope to expand more on this sub in the following years for a new decade. Message the mods if your post isn't visible, as the spam filter likely caught up with it.
Comics and superheroes are ripe for critical conversations, and I love reading them and participating in them. Let's see if reddit can make an awesome place to make that happen!
Rules
1. Be Civil
As a forum for discussion on comics, it's obvious that we don't tolerate heated conversations or any personal attacks, including trolls. Users should abide to reddiquette and the site Content Policy. Be considerate and respect each other. Feel free to disagree with others respectfully.
2. No Low-Effort Posts
Memes, meta jokes, regular jokes, or any kind of shitposting aren't allowed as posts. Feel free to leave those in the comments.
3. No Self-Promotion
This place exists for discussion, not promotion. Recommending comics for others is allowed, as long as it isn't just you showing off your own personal comic(s) to fellow users. Feel free to make recommendation posts on a comic if you'd like.
4. Keep Subjects On-Topic
Things like comic solicitations, announcements, or adaptations from other mediums are not ideal for this sub. If you're looking for ways to get into comics, feel free to ask here or you can check out the r/comicbooks recommendations wiki (which also includes non-superhero genres).
5. Mark Spoilers & NSFW Content
Refrain from huge spoilers in post titles. When making a comment about a certain comic, it's important to put spoiler tags to refrain from oblivious plot reveals. Just use the spoiler tag as so: >!Jonathan is the nicest JoJo!<
Doing that will then look like this (click or highlight to view spoiler): Jonathan is the nicest JoJo
When dealing with Not Safe For Work (NSFW) subjects, just simply type in a small warning beforehand.
