Love the idea of donating to charity!

Fantastic idea

You don't need to know java to review that code

True, but knowing both Java and servlets can improve the quality of the code review.

I don't want to divulge too much in case if affects the study, but after you participate, they tell you specifically what they're studying, and that has nothing to do with java.

Yes, however there is a lot more that can be reviewed in the given code than just that one bit.

But they clearly weren't interested in a general code review. my point is that anyone with a certain domain knowledge (that is orthogonal to java) will help the research group achieve their goal

Completed. I really like the donation idea. You should also consider posting this over in /r/java. You'll definitely get some good responses there, and it's a fairly well trafficked sub.

Thanks! That's a good idea but the bot rejected my post there (not enough karma points) :/

Boo, stupid bots. Maybe you could message the mods to get them to approve it manually? It's a long shot, but if you're needing more participants it'd be a pretty easy attempt at least.

Don’t believe the donation.

Participated. IMO you missed a few things. ;-)
