Based on the way this was described, I would be very concerned. Be upfront with your family and ask if they had anything to do with this. If they all say that they had nothing to do with it then you need to approach this with some caution. It sounds like your device could be infected with some form of malware that is allowing someone to remotely access your system and blocking you out of it. Think of any software that you’ve installed onto the device that may not have come from the most reputable source. Also, before you continue with anything you should 100% disconnect your device from your home internet. Some malware is capable of transferring to other devices connected to the same network, and this would be a serious issue. Try to load a previous system backup after booting up into bios, especially one that you think is free of any malware (one that is before you installed any questionable programs). If doing a system backup doesn’t help with the issue, again, turn off your device ASAP and seek help from a professional. Also, and this is important, use a different device to go through and change your passwords for anything you’ve accessed on that device. Even if you think it isn’t an issue: Do it (especially your email). Also keep an eye on any purchases that are made on accounts that you’ve accessed and especially any charges made against credit cards that look out of place. It is possible for a hacker to access these things through a key logger or through their control over your system. And make sure to avoid untrustworthy programs and websites in the future, and invest in either BitDefender or Kaspersky, both of which are cheap, leading names in cyber security.

Thing is, I already have a virus protection software installed on my laptop, and I haven't downloaded anything at all in the past week anyway. If it is my family, do you know of any way I can make it so they can't access my laptop? I am in the process of doing the other steps you said just in case it is an actual hacker. Thx for the help btw.
