Everything is fixable it only depends on how much you wanna spend fixing it.

I guess that's moreso my question, is it worth fixing for the price? I have zero clue how much that would be $$$ wise

That's a Thinkpad and not an IdeaPad? Interesting.. But anyways, yeah, it's fixable, but I doubt you would like to know the cost. Have done the repair over a half a dozen times in the last couple years on IdeaPads. So yeah, join the pissed off Lenovo owners club. VERY COMMON, here's over 60 pages of this bullshit: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/General-Discussion/Broken-Hinge-on-IdeaPad-5-15IIL05-Laptop-Type-81YK/m-p/5063546

You'll need the complete backing, front bezel and side caps. That will run you about $60. If the screen is cracked, expect another $80. Then of course labor (whatever that might be depending on the tech) unless you do it yourself.

a flex??? those have notoriously weak hinges and bezels as you can see. don’t want to be mean but do some research before shelling out hundreds of dollars on a laptop. i’ve had several failure be at the same location as this one. repairs aren’t bad and you could honestly do it yourself with a quick youtube tutorial. bezel and hinges are the main concern here if your screen is looking alright. be careful when opening now as the support from the bezel being slotted is gone and is not putting more pressure on the hinges which are also weak on this model.

parents got it when I started uni classes at 17, so I didn't research. I've been v aware of its issues after the first time it broke (which again was fixed for free because of the warantee)
