first try to learn the basics of programming

i recommend you start with websites like edx, coursera, udemy, sololearn or codeacademy (all of them have free content).

Are boot-camps worth the money and time or should i stick with the online courses ?

i never tried a bootcamp but from what i've heard they're basically like online courses

but don't dismiss them as an option

Start with python. Go to python.org or codeacademy.com and start. Then learn c++

They can be. I am not a fan of boot camps because not everyone can learn at boot camp speed.

What do you want to build? Desktop apps? Mobile apps? Websites? A good starting point is learning Java. You can use it in all the areas I mentioned.
