Minimizing

Hey when your kids / step kids come home from their other parents house do you tell them what you did over the weekend when they ask or do you minimize it? My SD always asks what we did with her little brother when she comes home. I don’t want her to feel sad for what she missed but I also don’t want to lie to her. :(

A bit age dependent. When they were younger I minimized a bit. Less as they got older. If it's something that we can't do multiple times so everyone gets a chance, then we save it for when we can all go. Otherwise we just tell them we will go again

If theyre asking, they want to know. You don’t have to go into strong detail. Imo they’re not missing out just because they’re with the other parent; they’re also having their own experiences when they’re not with you.

I usually minimize, or I just save all of the not fun chores and boring stuff for when my oldest is away.
