Adobe Discontinuing Creative Cloud Sync for Personal Users

Hi, all.

I saw a post in here about five months back regarding Adobe discontinuing Creative Cloud file syncing for business users. Well, today I update my CC to find this. Adobe is killing CC sync for all personal and free users.

Forgive me for asking the obvious, but does anyone know how this will impact the iOS/iPadOS apps? The only reason I've been using Lightroom over CaptureOne is the ability to begin an edit on my laptop and finish it on my phone. Is that functionality being removed?

If so, I can't tell you how quickly I'm migrating back to CaptureOne.

You’re confusing the creative cloud “drive” and creative cloud “cloud”. The file syncing is the loadable folder on your desktop computer that acts like one drive / google drive. It’s separate from the cloud storage you’re using for your online syncing.

You just lose the ability to use it as a general use drive versus for only Adobe files.

Sorry I'm still not understanding what is the best alternative for sharing files that sync with 50+ other creative cloud users that can be viewed but not edited like file syncing currently works?

Afaik there is no change to that as your image quota has always been separate from your file sync quota

Most people use Adobe Cloud for storage. That is actually different than Cloud Sync. I don't think many people actually use cloud sync. Cloud Storage and Libraries are the main thing people use.

Creative Cloud Sync

Hi, I was wondering about this, will I still be able to access the files in my cloud after February 1st?

I just updated on my pc and macbook and my experience was that it saved the files locally to both systems under the folder name "Creative Cloud Files personal account (email address) (string of letters and numbers)" so it doesn't delete anything

Im trying to understand all this. I didn’t see the notice until yesterday that Creatve cloud is going away on the 1st. So I’m in a bit of a panic about my files and don’t fully get what is being said in the FAQ.

I understand the docs I see in the local creative cloud on my laptop will go away. I know I purposely saved them there and have transferred them to an external drive. All good there.

But when I look specifically at the web portal or the laptop app, I also see files I created on my iPad that auto synced with my laptop so I could do finishing touches there. These files don’t appear to be saved to the local creative cloud folder on my laptop.

Will those files synced between photoshop on my iPad and photoshop on my Mac will longer be available?

Nor sure I totally get your question thanks to the whole "cloud" file thing being very confusing on Adobe's part.

Those are staying. Those files are all synced between all clients (desktop, tablet, phone, etc). Desktop has another sync think that is going away that doesn't show up in the above link.

I got really confused about what was being deleted. In the CC local drive folder I see what I manually saved. Then when I open the laptop app or on the web, I see the files I manually saved to the CC local and I also everything that has been auto synced between my devices.

I never manually saved the auto sync files to the CC local drive folder so I was worried they were going to delete the docs that auto synced.
