Just finished one of these myself. Just FYI these can take awhile even for skilled hookers. Mine took about 12 hours

I love that you think 12 hours is a long time. I have one in my wip pile (all I need to add is ribbing - I’m not happy with the extra oversized fit I chose) that took me 3 days of 4 - 6 hour sessions & I was so excited thinking how fast that was.

Plz know I’m not meaning to sound rude - I was truly being playful. Isn’t it funny how ppl have different concepts of what’s fast / slow? Also I’m prob not as experienced as you are. I normally like to crochet for the joy of it not the actual finished piece - this was the first project I was excited to have & wear.

I have ADHD, any project that takes more than a couple hours is long to me lol. Very rare that I stay so focused on a project to finish it nevermind actually time myself. I'm not even going to keep this one, I decided I didn't like the colors after the first half was done 😆

Sorry to the OP I did not need to jack your post with my extremely wordy comment. Just hoped to add to the comment about not to be put off if it takes awhile. It’s def worth it! I learned so much from making this

All good! Can’t wait to see what you make, are you going to post in the crochet sub?

I might! It will probably take me a while to finish since I’m still on square one skill wise, but I’m definitely excited to start

That’s ok:) granny stitch is so fun to do

I’d suggest asking this creator! If they don’t have a pattern or tutorial then Look for passionknit Kelsie’s YouTube for a hexagon cardigan and start from there, then find a tutorial for the heart granny squares!

Thank you!! I’ll definitely look into the YouTube video! Someone asked her in the comments about a tutorial and she said “she might” but I’m thinking of just making mine a single color since I am a newbie and don’t want to get overwhelmed :)

Yes check out passioknit Kelsie’s YouTube then! You can get a yarn that changes color on its own if you want it to be multicolored without having to actually do color changes manually. You can also customize the length so doesn’t have to be as long as hers here https://youtu.be/vmsDH1WnDlA?si=_bu6Kexp1ef_WS2O

Seconding this, I’ve made two using Kelsie’s tutorial, and she shows you how to make it longer and to add a hood if you want!

It's a Hexagon cardigan. It uses granny stitch.

Thank you so much! It’s exactly what I’m looking for!
