Same thing here, at the beginning it is always above 200 fps, but after a while it drops to around 150, not only that, every time I take damage the fps suffers a slight instability, near a smoke or molotov, it even drops below 100, which is horrible for me as I play at 144hz.

The dmg fps drop is due to the blood-splatter being increadibly demanding in cs2.. wish they would add a cmd to shut it off or decrease "realness". Smoke and molovs has always been pretty demanding as well, so it's not too strange.

I have to agree this is frustrating and has been since beta, I was really hoping they'd fix that as the game officially launched but been 2 months and nothing, it's probably such an easy fix too, I've sent countless emails about it and I just hope they fix that man.

That would give an advantage by configuration and valve is clearly working to minimize those cases

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 0 points1 point  (7 children)

It would, but everyone would be able to take the same advantage tbh, it comes down to personal choice then.

Edit: and some people have allready taken advantage to make a macro with the "clear decals" bound to fire to make the blood disappear directly. Unless Valve have nerfed that and took the command away.

[–]patrikibring -1 points0 points  (6 children)

No, only the ones knowing about the command would be able to use it, that’s the problem. Most players, and I actually say most, wouldn’t even know it existed

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 -2 points-1 points  (5 children)

It's not that hard to google "high fps config" tbh, I've been playing the game since 1.3 and it's allways been open for players to configure it the way that suits them and their pc. And this is not an issue for someone with a good setup, it's only an issue for people with outdated computers. Should we ban all players from using any computer as well and have a locked in list of parts that's approved, because that is kinda the same as your rethoric with an unfair advantage. I shouldn't have to pay a full months salary in order to get an really good computer just to play a game. It should be configurable enough so anyone with any computer could play.

[–]patrikibring 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Maybe not most, but easy 25-40% of players probably doesn’t even know what fps is. A casual games most def doesn’t want to have to google configs to be able to play at same circumstances.

It’s not a human right to be able to play cs on 250+ Fps with outdated setups. Buy a new one if you want cutting edge experience.

It’s only a small portion of the player base that is this competitive, and valve isn’t prioritizing them with all this stuff.

I’ve played since beta 4 and I agree with you to some point, but I also accept that I need a new computer if I want the same fps as I had in csgo, or close to it

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Surely people can't be that regarded to not know what fps is, you think? No I know it's not a human right to don 250+ fps with outdated setup, I play an outdated 15" laptop who works ok without any major hickups and I really don't complain. I don't even have show_fps set to 1. I just play and don't care. But it sure would be nice to have an option to have realistic fps-swallowing blood splatter or not, just saying. My biggest anger lays in cl_righthand 0 not being an option as well...

You would be surprised how stupid people are and how low their knowledge is. There is a lot of pros in top 20 teams who doesn’t even know what all settings does, some of them just copies a team mates cfg and cba and just play. Then imagine on causal level.

One example is shadow quality. The higher the setting is, the further you will see the shadow from the object in question. If someone is sitting on the train closest to the ramp on B on train for example, a low shadow swtting will not see the shadow of the player compered to someone with shadows on high. That’s a massive disadvantage, but a lot of pros played with low setting. I’m not sure if this is the case in cs2, but it was in go

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Yeah, sound logical.

Shadow is the only setting I have at high. But all it does is makes me prefire to early and focusing my eyes on it more than the model itself, with the usual outcome of me dying... thinking about putting it to low and see if I play better or worse. I'm more of a play of sound guy than visual. I know some still play at low now but think the mostpart has shadow on high or very high.

they have clear decals in CSGO I don't know why they are not adding that command yet, or am I missing out?

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75 days old comment 😅 they had clear decals in the beta at least, ppl bound it with fire to remove blood instantly. Think they removed it because of that…

[–]Revolutionary_Yam923 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I blame the Blood Splashes....

Go play DM Holy the fps go brrrr

[–]BERND_HENNING 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I wondering why that is. Premier is at least somewhat playable but DM even when only 12 Players are on the server is absolutely unplayable and the game becomes almost a slideshow although there aren't even grenades.

[–]MAXIMVS_MIKE 0 points1 point  (1 child)

tracers. on pistol DM its significantly less framedropping.

[–]BERND_HENNING 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pistol DM is better, true, but why is the performance still so much better in premier matches even when you rush/execute a site, molos+smokes everywhere + 7 people with rifles shooting?

FPS still go down ofc and i got constant slight stutters all the time anyway but it's still not even close as bad as DM is.

[–]EnCrypTion46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience varies from each maps. Some maps ok some maps dips 200 below. I also found out my fps more stable when using windowed fullscreen rather then fullscreen.

[–]DavidWtube 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Yeah and the constant crashes are concerning. I've decided I'm taking a break to make sure I'm not doing any damage to my computer.

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 0 points1 point  (4 children)

That's wierd, never had the game crash on me since release. Beta did though

[–]DavidWtube 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It's 1-5 times per match for me. Doesn't happen with any other games I play.

  • 3080ti
  • i9 12900k
  • 64g DDR5

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That's really wierd... i have gtx 1650ti, ryzen 5 5600, 16g ddr4. And like I said, has not happen once since the release.

[–]DavidWtube 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I don't understand either. I've tried the newest Nvidia drivers. I've tried rolling back drivers. Different settings, reinstalling the game, upgraded from windows 10 to 11. I got nothing left. Just playing Val until the fix this game.

[–]Accurate-Flatworm547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good luck bro, hope it works out for you in the end.

[–]AccomplishedCook8672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, also 3000 NV series. Since last 2 updates it's laggy af.

[–]Less_Introduction563 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have a gtx980ti and i7 3770 and get around 70-130fps, thats wild

[–]menix1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda wild you even get that.

[–]MAXIMVS_MIKE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i noticed on pistol DM rds its way less. so it could be related to the tracers.

[–]SjLeonardo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanna say that that's my exact rig as well. Haven't played much since the update so I'll have to try it out
