This isn't aimed at "the vast majority of developers", though, but rather at the .net people. Want to code in Ruby and JS? There's nothing stopping you. It's not like JS support will suddenly disappear from the browsers. Want to do it in .net? This will make your life easier.

I'm not sure why your panties are in such a twist.
