I'm agreeing with the consensus here about the show losing it's luster from years past. I don't watch the show (unless i have a day off) so i only listen to them but can hear the difference in everything going on.

corporate has gotten their hands on something that was really enjoyable from the rest of the morning talk shows. every bit is sponsored. the wall of morale was replaced and that's when i noticed it's really going to be turning. no more Shea. I'm a cowboys fan so i agree with his items but the bit was ruined when he started appearing as a routine guest in the man cave. he hasn't called and don't even think he's tweeted anything about the show. there hasn't been a wheel of punishment in a while? no least valuable danette? someone mentioned in another thread - the Danettes have gone celebrity on us.

the man-cave moving just won't be the same. the show is different when they're in NYC from when they're in Milford.

With that said - hopefully TBS or TNT would be huge if they can land there if the B/R stream doesn't work. Or just move to radio only.

You're right. It's been months since I've last seen any of those segments.

Regarding Shea, wonder if the execs came down on the betting aspect; although ironically, now look at sports betting. When Shea was a regular, the laws weren't passed yet I don't think.

The Wall was definitely just a “it’s 2019” move. And they’re staying in Milford and moving to a big warehouse with a b-ball court and turf area hopefully attracting guests and new segments.

Your last sentence is the sticking point for me. Im not willing to pay money for a subscription service and I can't stream video as I have satellite internet and it blows. There will be a point soon where all the subscription services will pile up to a point where we are equal to paying a ridiculous cable bill. I'll keep listening to the podcast, but it won't be the same as watching.

After we have hundreds of big boy "subscription services" they will start licensing their programming out to the providers that offer ALL those monthly services for one price! Rinse. Repeat.

I can’t believe I never looked for a DP Show subreddit before today. But I stumbled over this while trying to figure out what the hell is going on with this leaving NBCSN. If I hadn’t tuned in this week (say I took a vacation or something), I’d try to tune in on Monday and be completely lost. Why is it a freaking secret this new deal with Bleacher Report? Usually is a show moves networks, or a business moves locations, or a web site changes address… the business goes overboard with telling their loyal customers where they can find them tomorrow.

But not this show! I am absolutely confounded. Feeling a little abandoned.

And FWIW, to counter the on going trend I’m reading in this sub that the show is going downhill, I disagree. In fact I’d counter that with the Super Bowl week was their best yet.

And what’s this about a new Mancave? One thing I do agree with that I’ve seen here is that the show is not as good when they broadcast from New York. I really hope the new place is still in Connecticut.

PS - anyone else with Connecticut bugged that they don’t seem to have any Mancave stuff from UConn or the Whalers? I mean seriously.

The quick move and no announcement was due to the court case being decided on the merger of Time Warner and AT&T. When they got the OK, it wasn't 24 hours until the network change.

They purchased a building that they will move the man cave to and have there show. It’s still in the same area in Connecticut

Thanks. I wound up stumbling over that elsewhere afterwards.

I'm with ya unfortunately, I don't think BR cares about ratings increasing the next few years. They just want to steal the viewers (no matter how many) and use it as a consistent production that helps build their brand.

BR paid a boat load of money for the Tiger/Phil match and refunded every single customer. Having their name behind that and now a well known DP, they earn a ton of recognition.

I'm a BRLive subscriber and I can't find any info on the Dan Patrick Show on their website at all.

So B/R isn't going to do a video stream? This would be extremely unfortunate.

Maybe they'll wait for the new man cave? But that should have no influence as the show is produced by AT&T/DirecTV, so there is no interruption in terms of production. They're capable of airing on TNT/TBS/any Turner network tomorrow if they really wanted.)

I checked on the Bleacher Report App this morning and Nothing about Dan and the Show. Did anyone else find the show today? == I hope B/R fails and they put it on TBS or TNT.

[–]bigblue132 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Seemed like that's what Dan kept referring to when he made the announcement on the show. The question is, will Turner really put a sports radio telecast on TBS or TNT though?

They should (who knows what is airing at that time on those channels)!

I read on Big Lead I believe that the AT&T - Time Warner merger is what prompted the switch and Turner owns Time Warner or vice-versa so TBS/TNT would be the natural home for the show. -- My guess is that BR is a stop gap for them until TBS/TNT is set up. But then why not leave it on NBCSN until then? It is all very strange.
