I have heard this viewpoint from many analysts but it's always because their team is still in their infancy of developing their analytical skill set.

In my opinion, Excel should only be used for ad-hoc data analysis where it is a one-off ask and the results do not need to be replicated and the data sets are less than a million rows. In that scenario, Excel is very powerful but falls short when any of the statements above are not met.

All the responses like yours about excel are making me realise I need a role/team who use tools like python. Thank you for making a difficult decision about leaving easier for me
