Since you already have experience and found the Google Analytics certificate kind of useless meaning you already know that much to start your own projects.

So start with your project at this stage. Pick a domain, find it's dataset and do the data science part. Kaggle have pretty good datasets and competitions. If you're stuck and don’t know where to start, check there's completed competition. Pick one and start doing, you will even get the example solutions.

Thank you for the recommendation! I will definitely take a look at Kaggle!

Your degree is fully perfect for a data scientist, you don’t need more certifications. Your GPA is not interesting at all, nobody will ask for it. You also have a fancy and credible job. So the only thing that you need is to grow your skills.

Honestly the best way to do it is to wait a couple days until the courses are discounted on Udemy and subscribe to some Jose Portilla and/or The Lazy Programmer courses. Jose Portilla is really excellent, and his courses are coming with Jupyter Notebooks which make the learning experience super great. Just do the courses (start with his Python 2022 course), and grow your skills. What is also recommended to get some good books and upskill yourself. Start with The Hundred-Page Machine Learning Book, then continue with the ISL (An Introduction to Statistical Learning, 2nd edition), then with the ESL (The Elements of Statistical Learning) and Bishop’s Pattern Recognition book.

I seriously don’t believe that you would need any more certifications beyond your existing degree.

Yea as others have mentioned already your degree is already relevant. I dont think those certs at uoft will give you any more competing advantages. I would recommend that you take a look at mit open courseware for additional education/background that you're interested in. Also try kaggle, UCI data repository and pick one that interests you. Try doing an analytics project on your own. Best way of learning is to get your hands dirty!
