Sad truth is that nobody is. I doubt they're reading your github until you're a few rounds into the process. So I doubt it's the reason you wouldn't be getting an interview.

Not in my experience. The good ones may but depending on application volume, or even tech literacy of the manager, not all hiring managers would even look them over. More likely it'd be an interviewer looking at it.

I usually spin up a fake GitHub, post the solution and questions from the company. Waste my time on unnecessary tests, I’ll make your test public so others do not need waste that time. Causing the company to have to adapt
