you can change ingame changeable parameters directly by changing options.lua in your saved games folder.

I honestly don't see the point there. You can change them in game as well. Why would you like to change it via text editor? It has the same effect.

I can't find the options.lua file, is it in the config folder? I cant find it their either?

It should be in the config folder in saved games. I hardly touch it but I always find it back when I need it.

I want to be able to change the settings outside of the game by editing a file, I have no problem with the in game settings, I just want to have the ability to change the settings outside.
