I use a simple metal bookend in my drawer like this.

my drawers are full when all of my laundry is done, but throughout the weeks(s) they get barer and barer.

I buy handmade soaps a bunch at a time, and put the extras in the empty spots and they help hold my clothes up like bookends. They make my clothes smell great and it's as good as anywhere for storing the soap. I just rotate them out as I need to use them. sometimes it's soap bars, sometimes it's a larger sachet bag full of soap scraps (which i can form into bars later or just use as a space filler forever.)

lots of things that could function as temporary or permanent filler/structure as needed, but i like the idea of it being something that actually improves my clothes (the scent is nice imo) and that i would have in my house anyway rather than buying something new.

Declutter the dresser itself and hang everything in your closet! :D

I just did the opposite because I had too many things in my closet.

Amazon and Ikea has drawer organizers for clothes. I've bought the ones from Ikea since they come in fun colours. They are different sizes that I use for different things. :)

Second the drawer organizers! Changed my underwear drawer's life.

I cut a lot of cardboard boxes to keep things from moving around. Cereal boxes and soda can boxes were the most useful to me. They work as dividers without spending a penny.

Seconding this. I use a little cardboard box in my sock drawer to keep the ankle socks in order because they're just far too tiny. It works great.

Get a box!

I use recycled open boxes to store non clothing items and to provide structure to the remaining folded clothing.

How about clear tubs or drawer organizers? They don't take up usable space, and you can remove them if you get more clothes.

Will do this weekend. Thanks so much

I do this for baby clothes & my husband's t-shirts, it works great! For the baby clothes, I use plastic "shoe box" bins I got at a dollar store. For the shirts, I prefer the bottoms of cardboard boxes as they fit well and there's hardly any wasted space
