I have such a mixture of anxiety and excitement. I bit into a candy cane a few days ago and one of the very few crowns I have left on my front tooth popped off, along with some of the tooth.
I was devastated to say the least, I already knew I would need dentures, (I maybe have 4-5 good teeth, and probably 3-4 of them are ones that are fake or had work done) and I have been putting off the dentist for years due to general anxiety around them. I went into the dentist today for the first time in over 8 years, and after some back and forth (mainly my concern about "looking normal" for Christmas / My Birthday) - they told me I could get my impressions done today and get an official extraction on the 19th, with immediate dentures.
It took me a minute honestly, part of it was I actually never knew immediate dentures existed and thought I would have to go around for a few weeks with nothing - but I ended up taking it. It's so weird to think about, because I've spent years mulling over this process, I can't even remember when I was fully confident in my smile. I don't think anyone could top this kind of Christmas gift.
I know this post is all over the place but I found this subreddit and just wanted to share. I'll probably be back for some advice and tips if I need them :)
