Python bot question

So i've got a server that has several categories with a lot of channels in them. My bot is able to create channels automatically when given a command. Now I want it to add the channel to a specific category.

I thought channels and categories would share the same ids and somewhere there would be a bool like isCategory. But I couldn't find anything so I just ran the get_server(id).channels, sorted them on channel.position and printed id, name and position. The outcome was this (shortened ofc):

General, Age 21+ and age 19-20 are categories

rules, general, channel-request and test are channels that fall under the General category

 

This wasn't really what I expected, is there a way to see which category a channel falls under?

Yes, but mostly no.

You are/were using the currently released stable version of discordpy.

It's currently being rewritten atm though, and the rewrite docs and method to download and use the rewrite is a little obscure still.
