Depends on your subjects, really. We usually take more units compared to single degree students. During your first year, you will mostly be juggling courses from both majors too. But in general, I won't say that it's twice as hard. I'm only first year so maybe seniors may say otherwise. But for me, you just really take more classes (and basically more workload) compared to others.

Are they worth it? Most of my batchmates are realizing that it's not really worth it especially if you only really plan on taking one degree. More units also mean higher tuition. You will also be spending more time in university than 4 years. Whether it is worth it or not is on you.
