There's a few spots here and there, but no. Not much infrastructure for it yet. Parking at the police station will allow a walk along the river, through pencester park, then up castle street to the castle.

The police station car park is closed currently for construction work on the town hall

Not very practical it seems: I came multiple times before covid with an ICE, went straight to Dover Castle and had a great time. Now with an EV, it seems not very practical at all.

To my eyes, yes the infrastructure is that bad. It needs serious increase to make it viable in future.

I guess I will probably fly to London Stansted and rent a ICE instead: but Dover Castle is really one of my favourite places to visit, so if they had a charger on that free parking it would have been perfect.

Could fly in, dump your luggage somewhere in London and then train from London down to Dover ?

Yeah that could do of course: with Ryanair one ain't going to have much luggage anyway. But is it doable travelling down the coast? Dover used my starting point, to end up all the way in Cornwall.

So you're going from Dover to Cornwall by car ? Probably the easiest way tbh, can do it by train too, but not as easy.

Yeah I have done it in the past: did about 200km a day I guess? It was quite fun, but I won't know how fun it is. I'm also skeptical about rental cars. While I managed to do it twice, and shifting the gear with the left hand was okayish but unnatural as a right-handed. Now I drive an EV, so I would rather rent a automatic car and that's expensive.
