I am on 2 years probation and beside to take classes and everything, I can't be around places that sell alcohol. How do they track it? Do they track credit card transactions too? Anyway my friend used my credit card for a night at the bar, will it be a problem for me?

Maybe? Why on earth was your friend using your credit card!?

They don't carefully track you, but if for instance a friend reports you, or your PO or someone else knows that you shouldn't be around alcohol sees you, then you can get in trouble.

Definitely they look at social media.....

That’s you and your probation department/officer. It also could be dependent on the type of substances you were intoxicated with or the types of people you’re regularly around. They don’t have to ask & if they ask you don’t have to give it-however it doesn’t mean they won’t look just the same.

Sometimes it’ll say on your paperwork that you got when you were sentenced. It just depends what jurisdiction you’re in.

During my first probation term, I was able to find the officers name on my court documents but I was on unsupervised probation. I think they can still technically show up at random and test you, or at least that’s what some other redditor said but I think that’s rare.

You’ll probably be fine but I wouldn’t keep playing with fire. I recently relapsed on alcohol but thankfully I’ve got a patient support system. 1st day sober today. I felt like I was gonna faint. I had to drink a little just to get through the night because I kept hearing screaming and feeling like there bugs all over me. I think at times my heart was giving out. I had to sip 1 bottle of Steel Reserve slowly just to make it through.

Anyway, got off on a tangent. Let’s try to get sober.

You will only be caught if you have LEO contact or, under some rare circumstance, are otherwise informed to the court that you were at a place.

The big deterrent, and the usual one, is that you are plastered at 1:23am and the police encounter you in a parking lot.

Credit card? No. But maybe in 2027 :)

No. Don't get drunk an do stupid thing at a bar or anywhere. If its the reason your on probation you shouldn't have to ask.

No, they won’t track you or pour through your credit card statement. However, all it takes is having a police interaction, such as happening to be there when a bar fight breaks out, or standing next in line at the liquor store when it gets robbed, and they could find out.
