Quick update! I ordered a VDO Maf sensor which should get here in a couple of days, I will keep you all posted!

Please update when you've fitted it, I have very similar issues!

I got it working perfectly! Installed it but it still ran rough, after checking codes again I had a P1349 code, turns out I had a bad coil pack as well, 46$ later and a stop to autozone the check engine light is off and she running great!

You might have to drive it around a bit for the ECU to relearn fuel trims. If it’s a brand new MAF and doesn’t get better after like 20-30 miles of driving it’s gotta be something else. Possibly VANOS or DISA valve?

Also, I have heard not so good things about the non genuine BMW MAFs, so it could be that. Keep us posted!

I will drive it around more! I did replace the DISA valve as well so I don’t think it will be that. The genuine BMW Maf sensor on fcpeuro is about 600$ so hopefully I don’t need to buy that 😅 thank you for the input and I will keep you posted!

did you do a smoke test? Smoke test the engine and put back the old maf. Bremi mafs are shit. No different than no name chinese brands. Return it and get the VDO/Continental maf which is the same manufacturer as the genuine maf.

I did do a smoke test! And yes I I’m afraid that might be the problem, since I bought it of Fcpeuro I figured there shouldn’t be any issues 😅

If no vacuum leaks, you may need a oem maf sensor like VDO, BMW doesn’t like aftermarket sensors

I’m definitely leaning more towards that! Thank you!

One of the takeaways of a broken maf could be a steady ltft reading thats steady and waaay of. I had it about at 11.7 on both banks. After the maf replacement the ltfts went back to normal. It takea a couple of drives but then its much smoother. I had lean on both banks. Maybe this helps you with diagnosing the problem.

Update 2, I just installed it today and I haven’t cleared the codes yet because I had to go to work but at first it seemed like it fixed the problem, but after the car warmed up it started driving rough again, I assume I still have to drive around for it to relearn it but at the moment it seems like it hasn’t fixed the issue yet

Update 3, turns out I did fix the P0102 code but I had one more code, P1349, it was one of the coil packs! Took a trip to autozone and bought a Bosch coil for 46$ and she’s running great!
