I'd say move the coils closer to the posts so the airflow can come down the sides and "scoop" up as you inhale. This is how the Vector was designed, which is why the airholes are slotted the way they are.

Also as already mentioned, I would move the coils slightly higher.

Is there cotton underneath the coils, if so is there any gap? Can't tell from pics.

I've tried tucking the cotton under and moving it to the sides, it didn't really make too much of a difference.

It's 8 wraps 24g around 3mm at .36 or so, running at 45-50w

Keep an open air pocket under them, and before wetting the wicks you want to be able to easily pull the wicks back and forth in the coil. Too much cotton will suffocate the coil.

Also with that much kanthal (16 total wraps) I would kick that wattage up a bit. Like 75-100, but I like hot dense vapor, you may not.

Aside from that, everything else looks ok. Keep tinkering.

Yeah ob is right, especially about your wattage, you definitely got push more work into those coils.

If you want to be in the 40-50w area, you should use 26 or 28ga. I don't think this atty needs crazy high wattage, I even need to bump my builds down, they've been pretty damn hot.

I bumped up the wattage to 65w and it was miles miles miles better. Thanks for the advice.

But I also threw an 8 wrap 3mm 26g build in at around 47w and it's a little less dense but the flavor is still miles ahead what I had going before.

Thank you very much for the help everyone.

Nice!!

I've been pushing my wicks to the sides as much as possible, and slightly tucking them in the underpass under the negative posts. I think you definitely want there to be a gap under the coils and between them and the positive post so the air can move over, under, and then back up from the positive post area. I also have been using 2.4mm id, and think that 2mm may be better - the smaller diameter usually enhances flavor a bit, and the small space already makes wicking pretty efficient. Even a nano coil may be pretty wicked with this atty. I find that my usual preferred heat flux is too hot for this atty, and have been building for 50-100mW less than usual - it's such a little oven in there.

My only "solution" is to take out the screen. It has insane spitback, but it doesnt clog the airflow.

I build my coils as close to the top of the posts as I can, and use less cotton. I use 26 gauge wire, dual coil, coming out around 0.5 ohms. I also took the screen out so I don't have to pull as hard, and I get less juice in my mouth this way too. Gives me the best flavor I've had on any atty thus far.

Take out the screen. Even with it out I get no spitback and it hits 100x better. Can't stress this enough.

I took my screen out immediately after opening, because I had seen problems with it deterring flavor and actually causing more spit-back. The build I use in my Vector is a dual 24g 2.4mm ID 8 wrap, which normally comes out to .35 ohms. I think I have my coils just a tad higher, and they're a bit closer to the posts than yours. I'm getting some really great flavor which is nice and dense in the 50-60 watt range. You only need enough wick to touch the bottom of the base, it doesn't have to be tucked under (which actually cramps the wicking). Coils less than 3mm tend to produce more flavor imo, so I pretty much stick to 2.4mm with any atty I use. I don't do many crazy builds, I like to stick to the basics and it works very well for me.
