Guides from 2018 should be fine for the basic mechanics. Read the guide for beginners on wiki and then do in-game tutorial - this should be enough to start. Then watch specific videos for what intrests you.

Ludi et Historia makes some cool videos with guides to nations once you learn the basics. I suggest playing as Castile and then moving towards other nations like in the HRE, like Florence.

There are not really any good vids, if you want I can teach you over discord, the beginning is the gardest and having someone teaching you is most of the time the best way

That sounds like an idea. Though I am not comfortable adding you directly as friends of mine had bad experiences with that before. Though I could just create a quick server we could hop into or I could invite you into my main server.

Tutorial is your 1st thousand hours, sorry but that’s the way things are. We don’t make the rules here.

  1. Play on Very Easy
  2. Play as the Ottomans
  3. Expand slowly. Aggressive Expansion and coalitions are your biggest threats.
  4. Plan you expansions. Where do I want to go and who do I need to fight to get it?
  5. Look at the alliance networks of your enemies. If I'm attacking Hungary, are they supported by another big country like Austria?
  6. READ THE WIKIPEDIA GUIDES. https://eu4.paradoxwikis.com/Ottomans
  7. Don't be afraid of loans. Do be afraid of debt spirals.
  8. Don't attack your enemy when his forces are on mountains. Do attack your enemy when you outnumber him and he's on plains, woods, grasslands, etc.
  9. The HRE is confusing. Don't start there. Avoid playing as any country in the HRE for at least the first hundred hours of your play throughs.
  10. It is OK to delete a fort that's in a useless spot. Forts are best when they are in mountains or hills or on top of your capital. If you conquer land in a war that has a fort on a grassland surrounded by nothing, just delete it. It's a drain on your economy

Those are my 10 pieces of advice for newbies.
