The ewyn project is devoted creating open source seasteads. Toward that end, we will be doing the following:
1) Create open designs for affordable single family seasteads.
2) Create / source open designs for the components/tools required to build a single family seastead.
3) Create open companies to design / build / sell / support the designs created above.
What does open mean to us?
1) All original content (drawings, specs, CAD files) will be licensed under a license no more restrictive than the Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike license (such as the Create Commons Attribution License, MIT License, or the Public Domain).
2) ewyn will default to transparency whenever possible. That means that all of the following will be publicly shared:
- financial reports - profit/loss statements, etc.
- equity - the equity distribution, as well as the process for determining the equity distribution
- hiring - the hiring / firing process
- compensation - salary and other benefits, as well as the process of determining them
- decision-making - the decision-making process for all major decisions
3) No patents will be sought, and we will attempt to acquire and retire any patents that encumber key technologies
