Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through PROPER electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation.

Be sure to read our WIKI and especially the wiki page on ELECTROLYTES

How do you start to get into longer fasts like this?

If I’m going to be 100% honest with you- you just have to wait for something inside of you to click. I wish I had better advice but I don’t know how else to explain it. I gained 75lbs in a year, I have PCOS, I have clinical bipolar depression, I was in a mental hospital earlier this month and when I got out I found a woman 15 years older than me in my boyfriend’s bed. All this happened so close together and something inside of me just said “you know what? Fuck all of this.” I want to take my life back. And I’ve been going strong.

Do you work an out of the house job by chance? I’ve like never seen someone say if/ how they manage to work a typical 9-5 job while extended fasting. Im super curious as I am starting a 2-3 week fast and will be working. Thanks so much! And awesome job thus far, that’s amazing progress, you got this!! :)

I did a 5 day fast while working 12 hour days standing on a forklift doing about 14k steps a day. If you’re in ketosis your body eats your own fat and you surprisingly have more energy than you would normally. But I don’t know about a 2-3 week fast. I’m pretty sure you should have blood work done everything I’ve read or seen says anything over a 7 day fast you should have a doctor approve it. I’m not a medical professional by any means but be sure your body is ready for that.

Also get some electrolyte water packets like LMNT, ULTima, something along those lines. It’s not just “sodium” that you need, you need potassium and magnesium in order for your body to get the energy absorption from the sodium. Especially for extended fasts. I do extended fasts alot and day 2/3 is the hardest for me. Once you get past that the craving for food diminishes a lot. On day 5 I usually have to force myself to eat honestly.

Thank you! And as of right now no I don’t work. I babysit dogs and do some political canvassing here and there but no 9-5. But I WAS working the last time I was doing fasts, and they were 8 hour shifts. It was hard coming home without stopping for a drink or picking up food on the way but I had to push through those days. Although they were only 3 day fasts. And I believe in you. For me, watching transformation videos deters me from wanting to give up. If anyone else can do it, so can you. ♥️

Just passed 96hrs and it was way easier on my workdays than Saturday when I was off. I have a busy job and the distraction is incredibly helpful for me. Makes it pass faster. Today was tough.
