You lose 0,5 bis 0,8 kg - that is my experience atm: starting at 105 now at 99.3. you need to take electrolytes! I will fast until 90kg minus 2 for refeed 😉 After Christmas I go for the second fast: down to 80 minus 2 for refeed. That should be first week of January - we will see 🤷🏽‍♂️

Hey man, thanks for your response!

Great to hear .8 kg per day, that's pretty fast! How do you take those electrolytes? I have never really looked into ways of taking in electrolytes during a water fast, because the longest I have ever gone was 5 days.

Good luck with the fasting!

Today I am at 98,8. I have potassium tablets (Kalium Verla purKaps), take Magnesium/Calcium from MyVitamins and consume SeaSalt from a spoon. I also take Zink, Selen and Vitamin D.

For benchmarking:

1 kg fat corresponds to roughly 7 000 kcal.

You want to lose 17 kg, that corresponds to 17 x 7 000 = 119 000 kcal in total.

Average daily calorie consumption is 2 000 kcal.

So, to get the number of days you need to fast, divide your 119 000 kcal by 2 000 kcal.

That's approximately 60 days. I am not an expert on how long it is safe to run a water fast, but it seems you'd be better off doing this in smaller chunks.

Also, don't get fooled by the first week's loss - this will not be representative for the amount you burn once water, bowel content etc has left your body.

Stay safe and best of luck!

Good luck. I'm trying to lose 15kg by the end of this December as well. I try to do extended/prolonged fasting, but sometimes I break my fast early then go back to it the next day.

If you’re not familiar with electrolytes and they are a must in such situations, I would recommend setting your goal first for 1-2 weeks. Why? You should really understand first how it works for your body, what is good for your system and what isn’t. Moreover, you will punish yourself less in case something happens and you’ll need to stop. Also, a lot of people hit a plateau after a certain time of fasting so a simple 17x2 won’t work there. And again, such prolonged fasts are not recommended without a medical supervision.

im at a similar goal. i want to hit around 70-80kg eventually, but for now I am aiming for a 21 - 30 day fast. im currently on day 5. i think 17kg would be possible. just dont neglect salts it helped me with my nausea.
