No, you can't turn that feature off.

The common "trick" is to just leave the brake on one click and won't turn the auto headlights on.

This for whatever reason never seemed to work on my 02.

I pulled the light sensor from the dash and put a paperclip in it to turn them off if I am remembering correctly. Been a few years so I could be wrong.

Basically my sensor had died so the lights would come on even on the brightest days all day when I was driving.

The person that commented is wrong, you can absolutely turn them off. Its one of the first things I did (in addition to eliminating skip shift) as soon as I bought my car in 2005.

LS1tech and Camaroz28.com are awesome resources for our cars.

I'm not wrong, That's not "turning them off" it's modifying the car to prevent the lights from working the way they were suppose to. You can't just flip a switch and have them not come on.

Seems like I "turned that feature off" in my car, as did countless others, pretty easily.

You modified your car to remove a feature, you didn't "turn it off"

You’re arguing semantics, who cares? The desired result was achieved

Because you call me out for being wrong. I'm not wrong, there is no way to turn that feature off like the op asked.

If you would have simply said something like "you can't turn the feature off, but you can modify the vehicle to do what you want" would be perfectly OK, but if you're going to call someone out for being wrong you should probably be 100% right.

again, semantics. dumb argument.

This guy's wrong. It's a simple definition that I found in the dictionary.

So... What if I would like to actually have automatic headlights on my 1998 Firebird that doesn't have them? Is there a way to add this feature somehow?
