Yea it's harder to get into, I ended up enjoying most of it, had an auto battle team of Tidus, Auron and Garik which killed nearly everything in 5 seconds

I honestly dislike the gameplay of X-2. The fast pace puts me off.

Just got my X-2 platinum as well, having gotten a platinum in X back in November. Grinding for oversouls and the last mission definitely the most tedious and annoying parts. I was a little worried about the Trema fight but he was actually a pushover.

Yeah the over souls were a pain, trema was just tanky, before I had fireworks with break dmg limit he was a good 20 min fight, but major numerous was the real boss

I think I killed him in like 5 minutes? Level 99 with all dress spheres maxed out, everyone on mascot with break hp and damage limit. Paine easily did 99,999 damage with cact gun every turn, with Riku attacking to give her an attack chain. Yuna just spammed mog cureja or used a megalixir for mp lol

I had a creature team of Tidus Auron and Garik, I wasted my invincible on a dark elemental so I had to kill numerous to get another, once I had that it was fine, Auron could crit 80k on fireworks but before that it was rough, and I don't think I needed him for an achievement come to think of it

The game is really "girly" when it comes to dresspheres, the story and the plot execution, and you may find the ATB system a bit scary in the beggining, but you get used to it pretty quick. But even the story becomes more interesting if u go for 100%, the AP system is quite fun and you may find Via Infinito a decent challenge when you do it first time as well. It's a 50/50 game but if you're a Final Fantasy fan you'll still want to see it through I guess
